Scuba Diving Centres in Varadero
Varadero’s diving zone is more than 10 miles long between Matanzas Bay and to the western edge of Jardines del Rey Archipelago and includes some superb dive sites. The sandy insular shelf descends gently here and has many coralline formations and a great diversity of fish.
The Hicacos Peninsula, on which Varadero sits, is close to one of the most important coral reefs in the Caribbean. This ensures spectacular diving, where those putting on their mask and fins can see tropical fish, coral reefs and underwater caves. In the Parque Submarino Cayo Piedra del Norte you can see a sunken war submarine covered in coral.
At the beach of Varadero, there are 3 Diving Centres, the Diving Centre Acua, Gaviota and Barracuda.

- Location: Peninsula Hicacos. Famous Beach Place Varadero. 21 km long sandy beaches.
- Diving Center address: Ave. Kawama No 201, between 2. and 3. street from Varadero, province Matanzas. On the canal of Varadero lain proximity to Hotel Kawama.
- Equipment: 60 p.10/12ltr. Alu-/Steel Tanks (INT/DIN), 3 dive boats for 40 divers, K15-Bauer-Compressor., 25 complete equipments, rent able at acceptable prices.
- Diving education: The education is done together with the students of the diving center Barracuda and is after SSI + ACUC.
- Language: English, Italian, French, Russian, Spanish and German
- Diving areas: Flatten diving reasons, ideal for beginners.
- Diving places: Approximately 32, of about 30-120 boat minutes distance. Depths 5-30m, caves, coral reefs, wrecks. Hardly currents. Diving excursions with bus to the Playa Giron and cave Saturno.
